I enjoy everything …
I enjoy everything with two wheels. But you can “invent” more for HD’s that have a bigger impact on the performance or ride than you can for most other bikes. More room to improve or play, depending on the veiwpoint.
Victory has done a first rate job with its engineering, but it hasn’t gotten full respect of rider community, yet.
There is style, grace and host of other attributes any bike can have. Each bike has differing amounts of each. Just remember that we all love two wheels!!
Ride Safe!

I used to own a …
I used to own a Harley. It had a ton of style and it made you feel like the coolest guy on the street. However, I wanted more horsepower in a lighter, more reliable setup. Thus I chose the TL1000R. I just think Harley could offer a better product especially when you compare it to the competition. Look at what Victory is doing with it’s bikes. This guy obviously worked his off modifying this bike. Jap horsepower is just cheaper I guess.

It is amazing how ” …
It is amazing how “one dimensional” many riders can be. You only see the world through the eyes of the type of bike you ride. Your comments are yet another case of a rider who has little imagination, mechanical ability and respect for other bikes/riders.
TL is a nice bike, but could you go out and build these type of upgrades for any bike? This bike is as much about the ‘journey’ of building it as the final results, which are very good for a Harley.

Hmmm. Slow and …
Hmmm. Slow and heavy. If you want a fast v-twin for cheap, get a TL1000R. Stock they put out 135hp and they don’t ride like either.

hd sucks ; …
hd sucks ; overpriced scams; designed to let americans think it’s a patriotic thing if they buy hd; actually other than the embly much of the hd is raw materials from foreign rys. but dont try convincing americans that their hd is not much american anymore. they will hold steadfastly to their thinking that hd is all american. hd sucks, bad quality (oil leaks etc), overpriced, uncomfortable.

Right on man! I couldn’t have said it better. Plastic ing toys buzzing around like insects. That’s how I always refer to Jap. scrap. Cheers to you!

so, this is a HD, …
so, this is a HD, made for drag racing? Well, i don’t know about you, but I didn’t like anything on this bike, except for the motor sound. A HD is a HD of course, but that is the uglyest HD i’ve ever seen.

I paid 11,000 …
I paid 11,000 dollars for my 07 fxd. I used to ride a vstar 100. the vstar was a good bike with little or no personality. I got sick of pulling up to a bunch of harley guys and feeling inferior. I hate driveshafts too. To each his own, you will never convince a honda guy that his honda is inferior to a hd. As for me, I would rather have a sister in a whorehouse than a brother on a honda!

Yes I need 100″ to …
Yes I need 100″ to get 180hp……..at 2,800rpm insted of 8,000-10,000.

You need 100″ and …
You need 100″ and NOS to get 180. Mine has 61″ and no NOS and gets the same HP and will corner and brake.

Why don’t you compare apples with apples?

how quick to get there? thats the difference ya little bollocks

Why do all the …
Why do all the plastic Jap bike s show up on every HD video here?
I don’t post that you all look like a bunch of insects buzzing around on your plastic toys until one of my Fire&Iron buddies peel you off the back on a dump truck.

Anyway, don’t be so fast to talk down to the guys who ride big Harleys.
They may know somebody like me who has a XL that lost 100+lbs with a 100″ S&S motor that make over 180hp on NOS………..you never. know.

The record this …
The record this bike set was for its class. Apparently 137mph is considered ok.

Slow by 600cc or 1000cc Jap standards.

Ok I guess you know …
Ok I guess you know everything. Sorry to insult you. I don’t know what you are saying but you can buy a new Harley here in America for a of a lot less that that

mygif
nosleraccubond said in June 15th, 2009 at 11:31 am

And before you say …
And before you say plastic crap again, what are the Bat-wing fairings and luggage on a HD made of? Metal? Nope. Jap designed bikes are just a fact of evolution. HD started it all and I’m greatful. But my money gets spent on the best products not an image or reputation. Here in Canada with our dollar kicking the US buck’s , you can buy a HD that was $38K 3 years ago for $24K now with dollar equality. Thats new, not used! Poor s that paid $38K, they’ll never break even. :(

mygif
nosleraccubond said in June 15th, 2009 at 11:31 am

I guess you don’t …
I guess you don’t know much about bikes my friend. Honda’s Shadows (and others)are made in the USA, by Americans, with metal made in America, not one single part isn’t made in the USA. Other than the name that originally came from Japan, it’s an American bike. Harley’s made in the last 10 years wouldn’t have what I would call “craftsmanship”. Thats why the custom chopper market is so hot.

mygif
ballsdeep72 said in June 15th, 2009 at 11:31 am

how is a Honda all …
how is a Honda all American made? that makes absolutely no sense. You know something I don’t then I guess. The difference in a Honda and a Harley is craftsmanship. pure metal Harley to mostly plastic jap crap. Think about that

Seems like A LOT of work for 130-140hp.

mygif
nosleraccubond said in June 15th, 2009 at 11:31 am

Then you should buy …
Then you should buy a Honda cruiser. At least they are made with 100% American made parts. HD’s are about 35% Jap parts now. Don’t believe me? Go to an HD partsroom and ask to look around to see how many boxes say “Made in Japan”. My wife rides a cruiser and when I buy one it’ll be a 100% “Made in USA” bike.

yeah why the …
yeah why the would i want to ride my harley on a race track anyways. its about the open rode. Not popping wheelies and like that. I would hate to ride something that makes me look like i’m taking a while i’m riding it

to with your plastic jap crap. who gives a how fast it is.

I did. Repaired …
I did. Repaired police Harleys for the last 10 years. Have to test ride them after repairs. They’re not very refined. Constant nagging little problems that would bankrupt me to keep one on the road. My bike was lasered on the track at 179 mph. They never did give the speeds of those “records”.
