It should be “snug”. I would go out to a local shop and try some helmets on and see what size feels comfortable and then go from there for ordering your size from the online source.

You shouldn’t be able to wiggle it to much up and down. but you don’t want it too tight on your ears. Trust me, I had one like this, and it gave me the worst migranes.

Helmets are made for your safety, however don’t risk a blood flow problem for one. why don’t you just let go of all this tension and let a more trust-able shopkeeper decide a fitting size

You should never buy a helmet online. The fit is directly related to the effectiveness of the helmet. Too tight or too loose and you might as well wear nothing.

There should be between 1/4 to 1/2 inch play. So if you grip the helmet by the mouth piece and move your head side to side, there should only be slight play.

Different manufacturers fit differently so the only true way to make the best purchase is to try helmets on.

it has to fit snug and be confortable.i have found that cheaper is not better. full face ,i have a scorpion and i love it. you should be able to put it on your head and be able to twist side to side very little, if any
you will wear a comfortable helmet . buy on-line
when you drive fast, a helmet will try to blow off somewhat if its lose

You can’t buy a helmet online reliably unless you have tried it on first in a store. Unlike a hat, helmets are a size AND shape, and they don’t flex much. Some are longer and some are more round. If you get a round shaped brand, and your head is more oval, it will pich in the front and back. If your head is more round, and the helmet is oval, it will pinch on the sides. Go to a local store and try on a few brands to see what ones fit best, then buy online if you like. It should fit snug and even, all the way around your head.

i would just try on helmets at a store the on that feels right is the one to have that is the way i find it out my helmet size i would also base it on the size of a base ball cap and then buy one from wherever you are planing to buy it from is the way it should fit and then always use the chin strap and it will stay on in case of a crash

You don’t want it to fit too tightly or it will hurt after a short amount of time. Believe me, it’s a nasty headache. Go to a shop that sells the brand and model of helmet you want and try them on. Be aware that there is no size standard between manufacturers, so it’s important to try the same helmet you want to buy. I have 3 helmets I wear regularly from 3 different brands, 1 is a L, one is an XL and the other is an XXL. All feel about the same on my head.

Why not go into a real dealer and get a helmet that fits? you save a few bucks on line for an item that may well be a factroy second or a warranty return or flat out doesnt fit when for those few bucks you could a have satisfacton..

Check with bell.com, the helmet maker they have te sizing system.
Get a comfortable fit, tighter is not better. You should be able to move the helmet up on your forehead and down.
